We run a primarily British breed based herd for manageability and carcass quality. Hereford and Angus mostly. We've got a Galloway whoopsie out there too. Yikes!
We've utilized AI to bring in some higher quality genetics and refine type in replacement heifers.

We try to keep our program simple. Grass, water and sunshine go into our cows.
Not totally organic, but pretty close, we would rather emphasize a more rugged and productive cow herd, with a minimum of interferance on the part of us cowboys.
We do vaccinate with Ultrabac8 by Pfizer so that we do not have problems with clostridial enterotoxemias. This is in the best interest of the calves and the longterm health of the herd.
If the cows become burdened by parasites, they are treated with an Ivermectin product, but not treated unnecessarily.

Structural quality, capacity and carcass quality are major factors in choosing replacement females.
Only the best make our cut, and we are always happy with our crop of heifers.
Conneally Black Baron has produced some outstanding calves for us this year. Check him out at Snow Creek Angus Ranch in Kansas.
We are going to breed to Mytty In Focus and CJH Harland 408 this year. We hope to AI daughters of these bulls back to Baron.
